The humidity chamber simulates different climates and environments to help understand their possible impact on the safety or quality of our products. It simulates exposure of the luminaire to humid conditions which may occur in normal use.
The luminaire is placed in the most unfavourable position for normal use in the humidity chamber.
The relative humidity is maintained between 91% and 95%. The temperature inside the cabinet is maintained within 1°C of 25 °C. The sample is kept in the cabinet for the 48 hour duration of the test.
After 48 hours the sample is removed from the cabinet, checked for any damage then immediately subjected to insulation resistance, electric strength, touch current, and protective conductor current safety tests.
