Luminaires are tested using a type C far field goniometer system with a spectrometer sensor, to determine their luminous intensity and light distribution. The fitting is mounted on the goniometer, heated up to normal operating temperature for 30min and then rotated in 2 dimensions.

The equipment measures the entire 3D distribution field for any light source. It provides all photometric data in one measurement and outputs comprehensive LDT and IES simulation files.

These files are used in lighting design software (Relux, Dialux) for lighting planning and design.
